Pot Marigold - Calendula officinalis

I fell in love with calendula when I infused some fresh flower petals in oil outside in a brown paper bag during my massage training 20 years ago.

The olive oil turned a beautiful golden orange — the color of the sun. It was my first infused oil and my first medicinal herbal preparation which launched me down my herbalism pathway.
The bright orange and yellow flowers bring a splash of color to both salads and gardens.
Many gardeners plant calendula at the end of beds to repel pests.
