White Sage, Bee sage, Sacred Sage - Salvia apiana

This is the sage most commnly used in smudge sticks.

My understanding is that modern science is seeing the burning of sage and myrrh as effective sterilization of spaces. I love the idea that ancient cultures were ritualistically sterilizing in a much more advanced way than our current chlorine bleach obsession.
This plant survived for about 8 years and yielded many babies. It thrives in full sun but I haven’t seen many white sage this far south - a little fragile for the heat of our desert.
