Shell ginger - Alpinia zerumbet

This beautiful variegated variety of ginger has delightful foliage and lovely flowers.

The leaves are used in wrapping foods (think tamales but in Asian cuisine) and has some recorded traditional medicine usage. Thus far, I am just growing it because I love variegated leaves.
