Banana - Musa acuminata

Bananas do relatively well here in Baja. We have several varieties growing in our garden.

Banana is not technically a tree and the mother plant does die once she sets fruit. Hopefully, she has shot 2 or 3 pups by then so your banana patch continues to grow. I really enjoy the flower of this unique plant. They are a bit thirsty for water so I have planted a grove where many of our greywaters go into the ground. More water, more bananas.
