Cacao - Theobroma cacao

As a chocolatier, I consider this to be one of the worlds greatest foods and medicines.

Cashew Tree - Anacardium occidentale

This unique tree is more closely related to mango and poison oak than it is to other tree nuts like pecan, almond, or walnut

Elder is a magical plant that has been revered and used medicinally for thousands of years.

Guanabana, Soursop - Annona muricata

This creamy fruit from the annona family thrives here in Baja.

Kaffir Lime - Citrus hystrix

This has been a favorite aroma of mine since my first green curry in Thailand.

Longan - Dimocarpus longan

Longan is a wonderful tropical fruit with a similar texture/consistency as Litchi and Rambutan.

Mango Tree - Mangifera indica

One of the most abuindant fruits in the Baja area.

Olive - Olea europaea

Olives grow very easefully being fairly drought resistant with beautiful silvery green leaves.

Peach tree - Prunus persica

Peaches don’t thrive this far south although I have seen some do well in the mountains down here.

Pindo Palm, Jelly Palm - Butia odorata (possibly capitata)

Probably my favorite palm resource after dates and coconuts.

Pomegranate - Punica granatum

The gorgeous tree offers it’s pearly red gems all year long.

Rose Apple - Syzygium malaccense

One of our guests remarked: “It’s got the texture of an apple and the smell of a rose.”

Sapodilla, Chico Sapote - Manilkara zapota

Sapote means soft fruit in Nahuatl language system.

Strawberry Guava - Psidium cattleyanum

I love many parts of this tree.

Sweet Sop - Annona squamosa

The sweet and custardy version of the well known Baja favorite guanabana or soursop.

Tamarind - Tamarindus indica

This tasty, tangy bean pod is used worldwide as a drink as well as in soups or sauces.
